Frequently Asked Questions If you can't see the answer to your question here please drop us a line.
Will there be anyone else on my tour?
Yes, this is a scheduled tour for up to 20 people maximum, except for our Fashion and Cocktail and Canals, Art, Food and Wine tour that accomodate a maximum of 10 guests. If you would like a completely private tour then just send us an email to: info@milanprivateguides.com giving us an idea of your preferences, group number, time and date. We'll come back to you with a tailor-made proposal.
Are your tours safe?
Absolutely yes! We have the safety of our guests at heart and want to make sure you are able to relax and enjoy your experience. All guides and participants will have to wear facemasks under the current rules. We provide sanitizing hand gel. To make sure you can hear our guide, you will be instructed on how to download an App on your own smart phone. Alternatively, any devices we provide you with will be individually wrapped. We also make sure you are socially distanced at all times. We also take great care of you getting through Milan's sometimes busy traffic and over-enthusiastic cyclists.
How do we get round?
All our tours are done on foot. However, if you want to meet us for only a part of a tour your guide will give you all the info you need to get public transport or a taxi to the destination.
Are your tours suitable for the disabled?
Absolutely yes! Most museums and art galleries in Milan make at least two wheelchairs available and all the places we visit are wheelchair accessible. Our guides are all sensitive to the different problems everyone may face and will make sure your requirements are catered for.
How do I book and pay?
Basically, you just go on to our website, www. milanwalkingtours.org, select the tour of your choice, check the tour availability and then just pay online using the Paypal button. Alternatively you can email us and we'll give you all the necessary instructions.
Does the price of my tour cover everything?
Your tour includes all museum entrances stated and any food or drink where mentioned. It does not cover transportation, gratuities or any refeshments not specifically stated.
How do I join the tour?
All our tours depart from a major landmark or Metro station. Just turn up at the designated point as indicated in the tour detail and in your tour confirmation 10 minutes before departure. Look out for your guide who'll be holding up a Milan Walking Tours sign.
Is there a dress code?
This is a very relaxed city but when visiting the Duomo or any other church bare shoulders need to be covered and if you're wearing very short skirts and shorts you will be refused entry.
What's Milan's public transport like?
In a word Fantastic and don't let the locals tell you otherwise! There are four Metro lines and many bus and trams to get you round the city efficiently. A 24-hour ticket allows you unlimited access to Milan's outstanding public transport and is €7.00. You can buy the ticket in any Metro station or you can use your contactless credit card if you just want a single one-way journey.
Taxis
if you want a bit more comfort, then you should go for a taxi. you can't hail them down in the street but you can get your hotel to get one for you or download the App https://free-now.com/it and order a taxi for when you need it. Milan's not a huge city so if you are staying somewhere just outside the centre, the journey will be around €15.
